Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 2026

At PizzaPizza, we respect your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you interact with our national cuisine training services.

We operate under Canadian privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If something here doesn't make sense, reach out. We're happy to explain in plain language.

We don't use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. The cookies we use help the website function properly and remember your preferences during your visit.

How We Use Your Information

Your information helps us run our business and provide quality training. Here's what we actually do with it:

Purpose Details

Communication Responding to inquiries, sending updates about your courses, and addressing concerns
Payment Processing Processing transactions securely and maintaining billing records
Service Improvement Understanding how people use our site and training programs to make them better

Legal Requirements Maintaining records as required by Canadian business and tax laws

We won't sell your information to third parties or use it for purposes beyond what's described here without asking you first.

When We Share Information

We keep your information private except in specific situations where sharing is necessary to provide our services or comply with legal requirements.

  • Payment Processors: Credit card information goes through secure payment partners who process transactions on our behalf. We never store full credit card numbers on our systems.
  • Email Service Providers: We use email platforms to send course confirmations and updates. These providers only have access to the information needed to deliver messages.
  • Facility Partners: When classes are held at CF Promenades St-Bruno or other venues, we share basic attendance information with facility management for security and capacity planning.
  • Legal Obligations: We'll disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request. This hasn't happened yet, but we're obligated to mention it.
  • Business Transfers: If PizzaPizza were sold or merged with another company, your information would transfer to the new owner, who would be bound by this privacy policy.

We don't share student information with marketing companies or data brokers. The only emails you'll get from us are directly related to your training or inquiries you've made.

How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable precautions to keep your information secure, though no system is completely bulletproof.

Technical Measures

  • SSL encryption for all data transmitted through our website
  • Secure servers with regular security updates and monitoring
  • Restricted access to personal information—only staff who need it for their job can access student data
  • Regular backups stored in secure, encrypted formats

Administrative Measures

  • Staff training on privacy practices and data handling procedures
  • Confidentiality agreements with all employees and contractors
  • Regular review of who has access to what information
  • Clear policies about data retention and deletion

If we experience a data breach that affects your information, we'll notify you as required by Canadian law and explain what happened and what we're doing about it.

Your Privacy Rights

Under Canadian privacy law, you have specific rights regarding your personal information. Here's what you can do and how to do it.

Access Your Information

You can request a copy of the personal information we have about you. We'll provide it within 30 days, usually sooner.

Correct Information

If something we have on file is wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it. You can update most details yourself by contacting us.

Request Deletion

You can ask us to delete your information, though we may need to keep some records for legal or accounting purposes.

Withdraw Consent

If you've agreed to receive marketing emails or other communications, you can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or contacting us directly.

Data Portability

You can request your information in a common, machine-readable format if you want to transfer it elsewhere.

Ask Questions

If you're unclear about how we handle your data or have concerns, reach out. We'll explain what's happening with your information.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at help@pizzapzza.org or call (905) 271-3738. We'll verify your identity and process your request within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your privacy concern, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

How Long We Keep Information

We don't keep information longer than necessary. Here's our general approach to data retention:

  • Active Students: Information remains active while you're enrolled in courses or actively communicating with us.
  • Past Students: After your last course, we keep basic records (name, courses taken, dates) for up to seven years to comply with accounting and tax requirements.
  • Marketing Contacts: If you've signed up for updates but haven't taken courses, we'll keep your email until you unsubscribe or after two years of inactivity.
  • Inquiries: General questions and correspondence are typically deleted after one year unless they're part of an ongoing discussion.
  • Payment Records: Financial transaction records are retained for seven years as required by Canadian tax law.

When we delete information, it's permanently removed from our active systems. Backup copies may persist temporarily in archived systems but become inaccessible and are eventually overwritten.

International Data Transfers

Our primary operations and servers are located in Canada. Some of our service providers (like email platforms) may store data on servers in the United States or other countries.

When information is stored outside Canada, it's subject to the laws of that country, which may differ from Canadian privacy protections. We only work with providers who maintain reasonable security standards and comply with applicable privacy regulations.

If you're uncomfortable with your information potentially being stored outside Canada, let us know and we'll discuss alternatives where possible.

Information About Minors

Our training programs are designed for adults aged 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 without parental consent.

If a parent or guardian wants to enroll a minor in one of our programs, we require the adult to provide consent and handle registration on the minor's behalf. The adult remains responsible for the minor's participation and any information shared.

If we discover we've accidentally collected information from someone under 18 without proper consent, we'll delete it as soon as we become aware.

Changes to This Policy

We review and update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we'll post the updated policy on our website and update the "Last Updated" date at the top.

If you're an active student, we'll send you an email when we make major changes that affect how we handle your information. For minor updates (like clarifications or formatting), we'll just post the revised version here.

Continuing to use our services after we post changes means you accept the updated policy. If you disagree with the changes, contact us to discuss your concerns or to request that we delete your information.

We're here to help. Reach out if anything in this policy is unclear or if you want to discuss your privacy rights.
